The “Dog’s Day Out” at Ballymaloe Grainstore, Co Cork was such a joyful and heartwarming experience for me as a portrait artist. It was one of those rare days where everything just felt right — the sun was shining, tails were wagging everywhere, and the whole atmosphere was buzzing with good energy. I felt genuinely honoured to be a part of it. So many lovely people stopped by to view my work, chat about their pets, and share their own stories. It was incredibly humbling to hear how much they connected with my portraits, and I was absolutely thrilled to take on new commissions.
To everyone who came by to say hello, admire the artwork, or simply have a warm conversation — thank you. Your kindness and support mean the world to me. These moments of connection and encouragement are what fuel my passion and remind me why I do what I do.
Watching people light up as they saw my work — and knowing they trusted me to capture their beloved pets — was deeply fulfilling. I couldn’t have asked for a better day, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.
